Copyright & DMCA policy
Last updated: February 2026
Pinly indexes visual material from many regional ecosystems and links back to its original source. We respond to valid copyright complaints under the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act and to equivalent notices under EU and Asia-Pacific frameworks.
Submitting a takedown notice
Send a notice to our copyright agent that includes all of the following:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
- The exact Pinly pin URL or URLs you are asking us to remove.
- Your name, mailing address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.

What happens next
We aim to acknowledge complete notices within two business days and to remove or disable access to properly identified material promptly. The member who submitted the pin, where one exists, is notified and may file a counter-notice.
Counter-notices
If your material was removed in error or as a result of misidentification, you may send a counter-notice identifying the removed material, your contact details, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the removal was mistaken, and consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court.
Repeat infringers
Accounts that are the subject of repeated valid notices are suspended and may be permanently terminated.
Regional sources
Because Pinly aggregates from Asian, European and American sources, some material is indexed under licence from providers rather than uploaded by members. Where a provider supplied the material, we remove it from Pinly and pass the complaint upstream.
